Entrepreneur HelpDesk
|
Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business, in cooperation with the Connecticut Economic Gardening Group (CT-EGG), operates a unique consulting entity: the Entrepreneur HelpDesk. The HelpDesk, staffed by undergraduate and graduate Student In Free Enterprise (SIFE) students, is designed to provide free consulting support to Connecticut businesses by leveraging the intellectual capacity of the University of Hartford students (See Picture 1).
Small firms across CT work very hard to establish their businesses and create a market presence. Yet they lack the resources and for some the knowledge to develop potential business opportunities. We have created a unique partnership by leveraging a collaborative group of private, public and academic resources to provide these services in support of Connecticut business development initiatives, realizing that sustaining a robust and vibrant state economy is largely dependent on job growth and the ability to compete in the global market environment.
SIFE team is led by faculty advisors and challenged to develop community outreach projects that reach SIFE's five educational topics:
- Market Economics
- Success Skills
- Entrepreneurship
- Financial Literacy
- Business Ethics
