Rao Singamsetti, after teaching economics for ten years in the Andhra University, went to SUNY, Buffalo, New York and earned Ph.D. in Economics. He joined the faculty of the AACSB accredited, Barney School of Business of the University of Hartford. He is now Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, Finance and Insurance. His articles appeared in journals like the Journal of Productivity Analysis, Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, Southern Economic Journal, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Explorations in Economic Research.

Research Interests:
Status of War on Poverty in the U.S. since 1960’s and forecasting foreign exchange rates using econometric methods.

Currently working on writing a book, entitled, “Introduction to Quantitative Methods for Business,” with Dr. Bharat R. Kolluri.
Recent Achievements and Honors:
President, Connecticut Valley Hindu Temple Society from 1983 – 1999.
Recipient of State of Connecticut, General Assembly official Citation for Community Service, in 1997.
Established Endowment in the University of Hartford to honor the best student of the Barney School of Business on an annual basis.
