Mr. Thompson has served as a full-time faculty member in the Accounting & Taxation Department since September, 2006. Mr. Thompson served as an adjunct faculty member from September, 2005 to August 2006. His primary focus of teaching is Managerial Accounting, Cost Management and Accounting Information Systems. He is also a member of the AMBA faculty, where he teaches Accounting concepts to Accelerated MBA candidates.
Education:
M.S. in Accounting & Taxation, Barney School of Business, University of Hartford, May 2005.
B.B.A. with a major in Accounting, University of Iowa, December 1980.
Business Experience:
Mr. Thompson has 25 years of professional business experience in accounting, auditing and finance including Big Four Accounting Firms Ernst & Young (formerly Arthur Young & Co.) and Price Waterhouse Coopers (formerly Price Waterhouse & Co.). He has also held executive finance positions with United Technologies – Carrier Corporation, Zenith Electronics, Lydall, Inc., and Connecticut Surety Group.
Professional Qualifications:
Mr. Thompson holds a Certified Public Accounting Certificate registered in the State of Virginia.
Mr. Thompson is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative and a holder of the Series 7 & Series 66 certifications.
