Recent Events
The Barney Graduate Leadership Council hosted an afternoon of networking at P.F. Chang's China Bistro on September 25, 2009 from
5:30 - 7:30 PM. Many graduate students from the Barney School enjoyed this great social and networking opportunity.

What does the Council do?
Activities range from hosting events, creating Council newsletters, to social gatherings.

We were fortunate to have David Gordon, Cigna - Executive Vice President, as a guest speaker at our first event.  David delivered a unique presentation focused on the importance of networking and creating your own “brand” to be successful in your chos en career.

To network and celebrate the end of the Spring ’09 semester, students and alumni gathered at Shish Kebab House of Afghanistan (located in West Hartford Center) for a happy hour.  See pictues

Can I participate in the Council?
Absolutely!  The Barney Graduate Leadership Council encourages participation from all Barney MBA candidates.  Certain events will also be open to MBA recipients.

Times and dates of meetings and events will vary to accommodate differing schedules.  Participation can range from being active (taking on a leadership role, attending meetings, helping plan events) to simply attending the events that are of interest to you.

Team M.A.D.

Team M.A.D. was formed in 2006 to train runners and non-runners to be able to complete a half marathon (13.1 miles) or a full marathon (26.2 miles) while raising money for an annually designated charity. Their goal is to support charities in reaching their full potential while providing a safe and memorable experience for the runners. This year the beneficiary will be the Saint Francis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The goal is to raise $30,000 to help purchase a critical piece of equipment that will aid in the detection of seizure activity in newborns.

The Greater Hartford Half and Full Marathon will be held October 10, 2009.
