This integrative course is a quest to unconver the layered cultures of the Italian Peninsula. This study trip explores contexts of the Mediterranean heritage. A participatory component (either photographic or drawing buildings) complements tours of historic sites and the study of epic, myth, and history. ENG 333W Studies in Creative Writing: Travel Writing

This special topics course will focus on the primary genres of contemporary travel writing: the guidebook article; the magazine or newspaper piece; and the travel essay. Drawing upon the experiences of travel in Italy during three weeks of summer, and the extensive travel journal you will keep, you will write and revice several draft pieces in each style. JS 306 Archeology of the Land of Isreal (cross-listed as HIS 306, POL 376, and SOC 306)

This course provides students with an overview of the chronological and cultural structure of the archeological periods from the third millennium through the Byzantine period, with emphasis on the Roman and Byzantine eras. All students will complete field and classwork for both JS 306 and JS 307 (HIS 307/POL 377/SOC 377). This course is part of the Archeological Excavations in Isreal. Cost is #3,500, which includes field trips, airfare, and room and board for 25 days. Cost of academic credits is additional.

IB 310 Introduction to International Business

Course will explore the current environment, opportunities, and conflicts facing multinational enterprises. Major topics include cultural, political, and economic dimensions of international business; financial aspects of foreign operations; market entry strategies; and functional management of Multinational Corporation. Cost TBD, includes hotel stay (6 nights) double occupancy, books, tuition and other course materials.
